So who is John Camp beyond the contagiously cheerful wind in our sails? John loves to spend time entertaining his two beloved little girls and enriching their lives in any way he can (fairytale reading time is a favorite). He grew up an army brat and has lived in dozens of cities and held many different positions along the way. This eclectic background is part of why John is so capable of finding ways to thrive anywhere he goes!
After high school, he found joy in playing sports. Beach volleyball was his passion, and naturally, he excelled at it too! He competed in tournaments across four states and played at a wide range of levels until his knees told him to stop. Never one to give up, John discovered golf, tennis, basketball, softball, and 5Ks, which he continues to enjoy today!
If you knew John before he became a father (as many of us did), you might have gotten the impression that he would make a fantastic father and family man. To no one’s surprise, this came true and John has been loving every minute of it. In his words, “I have never been happier!”
A few more fun facts about John Camp:
Go-to comfort food?
Favorite all-time food is a quality lasagne, with ricotta cheese. However, my mood directs me. Sometimes the body wants what it wants and then I end up with Chinese take-out or Mexican food. If I mix my salty and sweet? A family bag of Salt-n-Vinegar chips with a half-gallon of ice cream with fudge and peanut butter.
Favorite color?
Blue… all shades.
A song you know every word of by heart?
I know dozens of songs by heart from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. I can be caught listening to Frank Sinatra, Harry Chapin, and Bon Jovi all in the same afternoon.
Most rewatchable show/movie?
Star Trek Universe. I was raised on TOS, but stayed hooked and know every episode of TNG, DS9, ST:VOY and Enterprise backwards and forwards.
The last thing that made you smile?
My daughters always make me smile, from the smile on their face when picking them up from school, to the “I love you” hugs, and even the unusual and genuinely honest questions like “Why do you have so much hair on your arms and legs?”
